Today, Governor Rick Scott signed House Bill 7029, Education, into law. According to flsenate.gov, this will “enable students, beginning in the 2017-2018 school year, to attend any public school in the state, including charter schools, subject to maximum class size requirements, capacity and other specified provisions.”
In order for a child to move to another school, the school of choice must have room, transportation must be provided for the child by parent and the student must not be expelled or suspended.
The bill allows for children to attend schools outside of their district and city. They can choose any school in the state that they feel fits their needs.
