How long have you been a teacher?
7 years!
What is your favorite subject to teach?
Business and Technology, as well as AVID.
Why were you inspired to teach?
My passion for encouraging humans to get out of their comfort zone, and GROW inspired me to use my life experiences to help teenagers find their passions.
What is your favorite part of the school day?
I absolutely LOVE EVERY part of the school day, as crazy as that may sound, work just doesn’t feel like “work” to me! I always look forward to seeing my AVID kids during first period as they are my school family and truly brighten my day!
How do you wind down from a long day of teaching?
I love yoga, as it gives me an opportunity to decompress from the day, get grounded and even re-center from an eventful day of teaching.
What do you like to do outside of the classroom?
I love to travel to different countries around the world. I enjoy spending time with my husband on our boat. I also enjoy doing yoga!
If you were a superhero, who would you be?
ME!! Teachers are the real Superheroes!
Do you have a favorite assignment/ project that you typically assign your students?
This paragraph could be long, as it is my goal to make ALL of my assignments and projects engaging and exciting for students. To name a few, I love our leadership projects that include Socktober and Lead2Feed. I also love watching my students creativity come to life as they “start their own businesses” and design logos and a letterhead for their company. My coding students amaze me every time they use code to design a game or interactive card and the video games, my 6th graders designs are beyond my own imagination!
What is your favorite book?
Anything that encourages a GROWTH mindset! I love growing and bettering myself!
