State of Emergency Extended for 60 Days in Florida

On July 7, Gov. Ron DeSantis announced that Florida’s state of emergency will be extended for another 60 days.

The original state of emergency in Florida came about in March when COVID-19 first started to have an impact on the state. The governor extended the order once before in May, and with the new rise in COVID-19 cases in Florida, it is being extended once again for another 60 days.

Fox 13 Tampa Bay news reported that extending the state’s executive order allows the state to continue directing federal funds to necessary supplies during the pandemic.
