This year’s sales tax holiday takes place July 31 – August 9, 2021. During this period, certain items will be available for purchase without the addition of state or local sales tax.
These items include:
– Certain school supplies selling for $15 or less per item
– Clothing, footwear and some accessories selling for $60 or less per item
– The first $1,000 of sales price for personal computers and some computer-related accessories when purchased for personal use
Florida’s sales tax holiday also applies to backpacks, handbags, fanny packs, and diaper bags priced at $60 or less. Shoes and footwear under $60 are also included. Electronic book readers, laptops, desktops and tablets as well as data storage devices, headphones, keyboards and modems are included.
Review the back to school checklist and save some money by shopping during the 2021 sales tax holiday. For a full list of exempt and taxable items, visit the Florida Department of Revenue.
