Dearest Families,
It goes without saying that these are uncharted territories for us all. Grocery store shelves are bare, schools are closed, parents have become teachers, teachers have become video stars through distance learning opportunities and social distancing has become our new normal. None of us are immune. We are in this together.
As the working mom of three school-aged children who are now schooling remotely, I know first hand what you are going through. As the mom of a Type 1 diabetic with a compromised immune system, I know first hand what you are going through. As the maid-of-honor for my sister who is scheduled to get married in August… in ARUBA, I know first hand what you are going through. As the daughter of parents over 65 who have to stay away from the children, I know first hand what you are going through. As a UF professor who has only ever taught in person, I know first hand what you are going through. And, as a small business owner who is glued to the news like it’s the day before a hurricane, I know first hand what you are going through.
And, as things are changing, there is one thing that is going to remain constant, and that is the power of parents and our parenting community here in Alachua County. Now, more than ever, we need a source of calm and continuity. Our Giggle Magazine team will continue to bring you up to date information on local happenings, online learning resources, the latest information on our schools and enrichment programs, fun things to do at home, recipes, health information and ways to de-stress as a family.
Our website, gigglemagazine.com will be updated multiple times a day with new and fresh content; our newsletter will be going out daily with valuable information and our social media channels will be posting the freshest, and sometimes funniest, content that we can get our hands on.
If there is anything you would like us to cover, to help with or to share with our readers, please let us know! We are here for you, so please feel free to reach out to me personally if there is anything I can do!
Much Love,
Nicole
