Starting at 10 a.m. on Tuesday January 14th, applications for the 2025-2026 Alachua County Public Schools academic or career-technical (CTE) magnet programs will open. Families with students in PreKindergarten to 11th grade can apply until the applications close at 4 p.m. on February 11th.
The application and selection process
The magnet program application process is online and allows families to apply to multiple programs with one application, according to the ACPS news release. There will also be hard copies available at each school. For more information about the application and the magnet programs, visit the ACPS district website.
After applications close, half of the new magnet program students will be chosen through a districtwide lottery, according to the news release. The other half of new students will be chosen by the school where the magnet program is located. To be eligible for selection, students must meet the certain attendance, academic and disciplinary criteria for each magnet school.
To apply
According to the ACPS press release “the district uses an online process that allows families to apply for up to three programs with a single application. Information about the magnet programs and the application process is available at the district’s website at https://www.sbac.edu/magnet.”
When will decisions be released?
The ACPS website notes that by March 25 emails will be sent out with magnet school decisions. Once those decisions are sent out, you will need to log into your application to accept or decline your students offer.
