Alachua County Public Schools will be providing meals to families over the summer now that school is officially out with the Free Summer Meals program.
Beginning June 3 and continuing through the summer until July 26, the district’s free grab and go meals distribution will be available, according to the Alachua County Public Schools Food and Nutrition website.
All children under 18 years old or younger will be eligible for these meals, and the meals will be distributed across the county at 70 different sites. Most sites will be distributing meals Mondays through Fridays.
“Families can take their children to the site that’s most convenient for them,” said Jamie Lovett, Director of the district’s Food and Nutrition Services department, according to the press release. “They just show up during the serving times and enjoy a nutritious meal, with no registration required.”
Please visit the Food and Nutrition website or call (352) 955-7539 to find out more about distribution sites and the Free Summer Meals program.
