ACPS Starts the Free Summer Meals Program Today

Alachua County Public Schools will be providing meals to families over the summer now that school is officially out with the Free Summer Meals program.

“Beginning June 1 st and continuing through the summer, the district’s free grab and go meals distribution will be available Mondays through Thursdays,” according to an ACPS press release. “Meals for all seven days of the week will be provided, with distribution spread throughout the week.”

All children 18 years old or younger will be eligible for these meals, and the meals will be distributed across the county at 70 different sites.

“Families can take their children to the site that’s most convenient for them,” said Maria Eunice, Director of the district’s Food and Nutrition Services department. “They just drive or walk up
during the serving times and enjoy a nutritious grab and go meals, with no registration required.”
