Alachua Police Department Hosts Drive-Thru Backpack Giveaway

The Alachua Police Department will present the Drive-Thru Backpack Giveaway this Saturday, August 1, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Families will receive free school supplies, backpacks and lunch!

This Drive-Thru Backpack Giveaway will take place at Alachua Elementary School, 13800 Northwest 152nd Place, Alachua, FL 32615. According to the Alachua Police Department’s Facebook page, participants should arrive at the school from “HWY 441 and continue to the parent pick up to receive a backpack and free lunch.”

This year, the Backpack Giveaway has been changed to a drive-thru event because of COVID-19 concerns. Walk-up participants are allowed and are asked to use the sidewalk along the parent pick-up area. Please wear a mask and practice proper social distancing!
