Some North Florida beaches are re-opening for the first time since the state-wide stay-at-home order, including beaches in Duval County and St. Johns County.

The beaches are to be used for activities like exercising, walking, fishing, surfing, biking and more, but all social distancing guidelines must be maintained, like staying 6 feet apart and no large gatherings.

According to the City of Jacksonville, the Mayor of Duval County, Lenny Curry said, “This can be the beginning of the pathway back to normal life. Please respect and follow these limitations. Stay within the guidelines for your safety as well as for the safety of your neighbors.”

Duval County beaches will be open from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. St. Johns County beaches will open from 6 a.m. to noon.
