Free homework help is now available for Alachua County Public School students.
This new program titled “Beyond the Bell” and funded through federal ESSER (Elementary and Secondary Emergency Relief) funds intended to help students recover from effects of the COVID pandemic is open to Alachua County students from elementary through high school. Â Certified teachers and subject matter experts will be providing the tutoring for students.
Free, virtual support will be available after school Mondays through Thursdays for students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Elementary and high school students can access the program from 3-4 p.m. and again from 6-7 p.m. Middle school sessions are available from 4-5 p.m. and 6-7 p.m. Help will be available in English/language arts, math, science and social studies.
To access the program, students can visit www.sbac.edu/tutor. They will select the appropriate link for their grade level and log in to the myPortal system with the Active Directory user name and password they use to log in to computers at school.
This free tutoring will be a great resource for students who need a little help or clarification in a subject as well as a welcome relief for parents who sometimes struggle to answer their students’ homework questions.
