This fall, the Alachua County Public Schools will have some new faces on campus.
In partnership with the Alachua County Health Department, there will be an additional 30 nurses working in the schools to help with COVID mitigation efforts. These nurses will work alongside current school nursing staff and will be focused on contact tracing, testing, vaccination support and education.
School administrators have been bearing the brunt of the tracing and mitigation efforts. With the addition of these extra nurses, administrators can return their attention to education and operations of the school. The extra staff will help ensure the safest possible environment for returning students. Here’s to a happy, healthy and safe school year!
