For Disney fans and Florida residents, the closing of Walt Disney World has been very sad, yet necessary. And while we still won’t be able to go see Cinderella’s Castle just yet, on May 20, Disney Springs will begin the reopening process.
This information was announced on the Disney Parks Blog on May 7. “Following the guidance of government and health officials, a limited number of shopping and dining experiences that are owned by third-party operating participants will begin to open during this initial phase,” according to the blog post. “The rest of Walt Disney World Resort will remain closed, including theme parks and resort hotels.”
During this reopening phase, Disney Springs will have limits on area capacity, parking and hours of operation. And, extra precautions will be taken like extra cleanliness procedures and face masks requirements for cast members and visitors.
“Please check DisneySprings.com as we get closer to May 20 for the most current information on operating hours, locations and safety procedures,” according to the Disney Parks Blog.
