Buchholz High School Drama Players Presents Ride the Cyclone

September 26 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

$10 – $17

For their first show of the 2025 season, Buchholz Players proudly presents Ride the Cyclone. In this hilarious and outlandish story, the lives of five teenagers from a Canadian chamber choir are cut short in a freak accident aboard a roller coaster. When they awake in limbo, a mechanical fortune teller invites each to tell a story to win a prize like no other — the chance to return to life.

The students include Ocean O’Connell Rosenberg, a perfectionist and overachiever; her loyal sidekick, Constance Blackwood; Noel Gruber, the only openly gay boy in his small town; Mischa Bachinski, a Ukrainian adoptee with a tragic nuclear past; Ricky Potts, a boy born with an unnamed disease that left him mute and unable to walk; and Jane Doe, a mysterious headless girl in a school uniform.

“This darkly comedic musical features songs ranging from classical to glam rock to R&B to folk,” said student co-director Allison Barton. “The talented cast really makes people ask themselves, ‘How do you want to live?’”
Student co-director Taiden Roberts said “We’re thrilled to bring this unique production to life on our stage and can’t wait for the audience to experience the rollercoaster of emotions this show delivers.”

Ride the Cyclone runs Sept. 26 to Oct. 6, with shows Sept. 26-28 and Oct. 2-5 at 7 p.m., and shows Sept. 29 and Oct. 5-6 at 2 p.m. Ticket prices for general admission are $15 online and $17 at the door; student tickets are $12 online and $15 at the door; group tickets are $10 when purchased online, and tickets are free for Buchholz High School faculty. Tickets can be purchased online at www.buchholzdrama.com.
