Delicious Halloween Cupcakes

October is here, which means that in a few short weeks, we get to celebrate our favorite spooky holiday! Get your kiddos into the holiday spirit by creating some creepy, yet tasty, frightfully delicious Halloween cupcakes together. Put on your favorite Halloween movie (“Hocus Pocus” anyone?) and get to decorating!

The Graveyard

  • Cupcake (we used chocolate)
  • Chocolate frosting
  • Black decorating icing
  • Oreos
  • Milano cookies

Frost your cupcake with chocolate frosting. Separate the Oreos and crush up just the cookie part. Sprinkle the crumbs over your frosted cupcake; they will serve as your grave dirt. Use the black decorating icing to decorate your Milano so that it resembles a tombstone, then stick the Milano into the cupcake so that just the top half of it is visible.

The Eyeball

  • Cupcake (we used vanilla)
  • Vanilla frosting
  • Red decorating gel
  • Life Savers Gummies
  • Mini candy eyeballs

Frost your cupcake with vanilla frosting. Place one Life Savers in the middle of the cupcake, then use the red decorating gel to secure a mini candy eyeball to the center of the Life Savers. Use the red decorating gel again to make lines coming from the Life Savers to resemble a bloodshot eyeball.

The Spider

  • Cupcake (we used vanilla)
  • Vanilla frosting
  • Oreos
  • Black decorating icing
  • Mini candy eyeballs

Frost your cupcake with vanilla frosting. Separate an Oreo and place the side with no cream in the center of your cupcake (you can go ahead and snack on the other side!). Use the black decorating icing to create four legs on each side of the Oreo for a total of eight legs, like a spider. Use the remaining icing to secure two candy eyeballs (or eight if you want a more lifelike spider!) onto the Oreo.

The Witch’s Hat

  • Cupcake (we used vanilla)
  • Vanilla frosting (we dyed ours bright green!)
  • Oreos
  • Orange decorating icing
  • Hershey’s Kisses

Frost your cupcake with your dyed vanilla frosting. Separate an Oreo and reserve the side with no cream (you can eat the other side!). Use the decorating icing to secure one unwrapped Hershey’s Kiss to the center of your remaining Oreo half, then decorate your newly constructed witch hat as you like before placing it on your cupcake.

Giggle tip: Make these frightfully delicious Halloween cupcakes easy for kiddos of all ages to decorate by setting out pre-frosted cupcakes for them to embellish!
