Irving Publications is growing and has launched a search for a full-time, in-house graphic designer for our bimonthly award winning magazine and publishing company.

 

Candidates should demonstrate the following skills and qualifications:

• Minimum three years’ experience in design/marketing environment with a significant focus on print
• Degree in graphic design, fine arts, or related area
• Hands-on experience and proficient working knowledge in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Microsoft Office
• Proficient on Apple/MAC
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills
• Exceptional customer service and team-participation skills
• Must be able to multitask and meet challenging deadlines
• Solid grasp of design concepts and typography
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Basic knowledge of photography
• Have eye for detail
• Have imagination to create and try out-of-the-box concepts and ideas
• Knowledge of web design and WordPress a plus
• Advanced photography skills a plus

This position’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Conceptualize, design, and develop layouts for each issue of magazine based on editorial concepts and theme of magazine
• Work together with editorial team to build concepts and ideas
• Prepare magazine for print
• Work within set brand standards
• Work with photographers, models and editors to organize and, on occasion, supervise photo shoots
• Work with sales reps and clients in completing ad concepts for magazine ads
• Work with marketing team in creating new campaigns and elements for magazine brand and designing branding/promotions/internal ads
• Conceptualize and create marketing and promotional pieces
• Design digital pieces and advertisements and prepare for web use
• Research out-of-the-box ideas and implement new concepts
• Construct photo shoot backdrops, crafts, props, etc. as needed
