The Parks and Recreation Department in Newberry is doing its part to make sure the Newberry community stays safe during COVID-19 with its “Newberry Eats” delivery service.
There are many restaurants in Newberry that are still open for pick-up and delivery, and the city has even developed a “Newberry Eats” delivery service that will deliver food to your house for free! This service is most useful for the elderly or those who cannot leave their houses, but it is available for all to take advantage of. To use “Newberry Eats”, you can call (352) 472-5663 x148, or when you are ordering your food, simply tell the restaurant that you would like to use “Newberry Eats.” This service is available from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Also, $500 worth of food was donated by the Newberry Hitchcocks to the Community Coronavirus Relief Fund (CCRF), according to the City of Newberry Facebook page. The City of Newberry matched that donation with $500. This money goes to feeding local families durring the COVID-19 pandemic. If you would like to donate to to the CCRF, click here!
