With Earth Day coming up, we wanted to provide a fun craft for you and your kiddo to make that involves nature! Make this DIY Stick Ship out of twigs from your backyard!

DIY Stick Ship

Supplies:

  • 8-10 sticks or twigs
  • Garden Shears
  • Hot glue
  • Felt or Leaf

Directions:

Have your little one gather 8-10 sticks that are roughly the same width for this quick activity. Carefully use garden shears to trim the twigs to the same length, at least 3”, and set aside one twig uncut. Line all the sticks up parallel, forming a square base for the raft. Place two sticks perpendicular to the others, one at the top and one at the bottom, and hot glue into place to stabilize the base. Hot glue the longer uncut twig in the center of the base, sticking upright as the mast of the ship. Cut two slits in a triangle of felt or a big leaf, and your twig ship is fit for the finest Lego sailor or Polly Pocket pirate!
