The International Olympic Committee and the Prime Minister of Japan announced last week that they were postponing the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo until next summer. Today, the International Olympic Committee (IOC), The International Paralympic Committee (IPC), The Tokyo Metropolitan Government, The Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee, and The Government Of Japan decided on the official dates for the games in the summer of 2021, according to Olypmic.org.
The new dates for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics will be from July 23 to August 8, 2021, and the 2020 Paralympic Games will take place from August 24 to September 5, 2021, according to Olympic.org.
The decision to postpone the Olympic Games was made to protect the athletes and everyone involved.
