Today, SIMEDHealth announced that First Care, their urgent care center, will be expanding their hours to better serve those affected by COVID-19.
The urgent care center’s new hours will be on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday services will continue from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., according to SIMEDHealth. They will also continue to “see non-COVID-19 related patients for typical urgent care needs, acute injuries and illnesses, plus evaluate patients with symptoms possibly related to COVID-19.”
“We understand the community needs access to care during these times and our hope is that with our expanded hours, patients can be evaluated in an outpatient setting. People are scared to go to the emergency rooms,” said Dr. Daniel Duncanson, CEO of SIMEDHealth, LLC. “We aim to be an access into healthcare in a less risky environment while lessening the burden that may be placed on our local hospitals and emergency rooms.”
