Phase 2 of Florida’s reopening process will start this Friday, June 5.

In a press conference on June 3, Governor Ron DeSantis announced that the state of Florida is ready to move on to Phase 2 of the reopening process starting this week.

In Phase 2, bars, movie theaters, concert houses and bowling alleys will be able to reopen. Bars will be able to open to 50% capacity indoors and full capacity outside. Movie theaters, bowling alleys, concert houses and arcades also can open to 50% capacity.

Retail stores and gyms may operate at full capacity as long as proper social distancing is taken into account, as well as proper sanitization.

People who are over 65 years of age or those with underlying medical conditions are encouraged to continue avoiding large crowds, and Floridians are encouraged to avoid congregating in groups any larger than 50. Visit Gov. Ron DeSantis’ Twitter page to view slides of all of the Phase 2 guidelines.

Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties will not be proceeding to Phase 2 until further notice. To watch Gov. DeSantis’ full press conference, click here!
